Crock Pot Dinner Rolls

These Crock Pot Dinner Rolls are super easy to make. You want to make sure that your rolls rise enough. If not, they will be more like the consistency of biscuits. To get your rolls light and fluffy, be patient. Wait until they have risen all the way before turning your crock pot over to high.

Slow Cooker Recommendation

Since I wanted to have nice rounded edges on my rolls, I used myWest Bend 6-Quart Round Slow Cooker. Any 5-6 quart slow cooker should work though…and if you are doing fewer rolls, you can use a smaller slow cooker. As always, just make sure you watch your rolls the first time around so you can learn how your slow cooker cooks.

Note from Cris:

Anytime we post a recipe like this we get emails asking why on earth would you use a slow cooker for something you could throw in the oven. Truth be told, we don’t always make our rolls in the crock pot, but it is an option we love to have– especially around the holidays when oven space is very limited. It is also a great option for folks who are traveling/camping or away from home… just some food for thought ;).

Thank you for this recipe!! I had some frozen rolls thawing/rising on the counter. I tried turning on the oven to give the rolls a little kickstart only to find our heating element had stopped working. Thanks to your recipe, we were still able to enjoy fresh rolls with our crockpot country-style ribs!

We live in a house that has an old wall oven and when it gave out, we decided that replacing it was not an expense we could afford for a while. So these kinds of recipes are a Godsend for us!! Thank you for sharing some “out of the box” cooking in the crockpot!!
