He slipped did he now?

He slipped and was going to fall on his face, but Taehyung somehow managed to be there at the right place and time, and saved Jin.

That's all there is to it, like Jin hyung said.

He slipped...

"He slipped... really?! Jin hyung!" Yoongi shouted and punched the wall beside him, as soon as he was out of earshot.

The passing nurses and doctors gave him a look, some pausing mid-action to look at his hand before moving past him.

"I'm fine." Yoongi said, when he noticed a nurse approaching him.

"Alright." The nurse gave him a small smile, and pointed to the side. "I'll be making the rounds on this floor. If you need a band-aid or just need someone to talk to-" The smile fell away, replaced with some concern.

"Let me know."

"I'm fine." Yoongi repeated and turned away from the elderly nurse, whose eyes were filled with a familiar emotion, of pity and care for the stranger before her.

Yoongi didn't hate the lady for being kind and offering him a helping hand. It was in their job description, and something they did every day. He just wished it wasn't out of pity, though.

The pitiful ones, were the two he had left behind, one in the parking lot and the other in the room where their late leader's body had been kept. Those were the two people needing all the kindness in the world, and it would still not be enough to heal the wounds carved into their hearts.

Yoongi let out a sigh and sat on the bench beside the reception desk.

Jin hyung had outright lied to his face, to Yoongi, about everything that had happened in the parking lot.

Sure, Taehyung had given a different name to Jin hyung, and the elder didn't know any better. But the other thing? The fact that Jin had bought a bottle of poison, and was planning on ingesting the silver, harming himself and his baby...how could he lie about it to Yoongi's face?

Was Yoongi not worth his trust anymore? Did Jin hyung really think that Yoongi would rat him out to Jungkook?

To do such a thing, in such a secretive manner... if Taehyung hadn't found out about it, what then?

Jungkook would have lost two more family members, and Yoongi-

He had kept his feelings at bay, for an eternity, it seemed like, and he would continue to do so.

Still, knowing, how his sweet Jin hyung, had come close to meeting with an untimely death, it...made Yoongi's insides freeze, just thinking about it.

If he would have lost Jin tonight, maybe...maybe Yoongi would have resorted to something equally crazy. Something like what Jungkook was doing now.

The only difference is that, Jungkook still has someone else to blame for, about losing his brother. Yoongi on the other hand, only had himself to blame if something were to happen to Jin on his watch.

It would have been due to his carelessness, because he didn't look after Jin hyung, well enough.

"Who is it?"

"Huh?" Yoongi looked to the side, at the speaker.

He was a middle-aged man, with his hair thinning at the front and some whites peeking near his ear. His nose was tipped red, and his eyes were wet with lost tears. Beside him, a woman was resting her head on his shoulder. A married couple? Family?

"Who did you loose?" The man asked.

"No one."

His answer made the man frown and nod his head. "I see."

"You do?"

"I guess so. You're grieving for someone else."

"Uh-" Yoongi thought on it, for a moment. Was he grieving for Jin hyung? Maybe...or maybe he was simply grieving over the fact, that he had come close to losing the one he loved.

"Maybe...I don't know. I-I didn't lose someone close to me. M-My friend did." Yoongi looked down at his hands, curling his fingers into a tight fist, until his nails were digging into the palms of his hands. "My friend lost his husband, and-"

"And you both are grieving in your own way." The man said, his eyes boring into Yoongi.

He didn't like that look, the all-knowing expression on his face. Who was this man? Why did he want to know about Yoongi? Was he trying to read Yoongi's mind?

"Let it out."

"Sorry?" Yoongi blinked, focusing back on the man's face. That knowing look was back, but with it, there was also grief in it.

"I was at that stage too." The man said, and his gaze traveled to the woman, who was still asleep. "I wanted to keep it inside me, as well. I thought, it wasn't my grief to deal with. This was someone else's loved one, some other person had to go through that loss and not me."

"But the thing is, you wouldn't be here, if the person and everybody related to them, wasn't important to you as well."

"You said, your friend lost his husband. And yes, it's his grief and burden to bear. But it's the same for you as well. You might have known the husband, you know your friend well, you must know their family too. You are allowed to grieve for them, in your own way."

"You're allowed to grieve, cry and be pained by what your friend and family are going through. Your sufferings, have just as much importance, as theirs. Don't deny yourself that right. Don't deny...yourself the chance to let your emotions out."

"It will suffocate you, if you ignore them any longer."

Yoongi didn't know what to say. There was no way of knowing, if the man was talking only about the grief, or did he guess that Yoongi was in love with Jin as well, and that's why he was affected to such an extent.

"I-I will keep that in mind." Yoongi nodded and got up from his place on the bench. "Thank you."

"Think on it." The man said, as Yoongi was walking away, and again the Beta nodded.

He wasn't seeking advice on how to handle his feelings, but something that the man had said, reminded him of Taehyung, and Jungkook.

All this time, Jungkook had made sure to show Taehyung all his sufferings, of the pain he was in because of Taehyung. He had thrown every piece of torture, of hatred in Taehyung's direction.

And the omega had taken it all in.

But what about Taehyung? What had he shown Jungkook in return? He had been silent the whole time.

Jungkook had no desire to respect Taehyung's sufferings, of his pain and the alpha would do nothing about it. Yoongi knew this.

Taehyung had been denied the right to express his own grievances, and till now, he had kept it all bottled up.

Even though Taehyung's suffering deserved to be heard, just as much as Jungkook's, did he ever get a chance to do so?

Yoongi came to a stop before another room, and watched the person inside, smile widely while looking at their phone.

The answer was simple.

No, Taehyung would never get that chance. Jungkook would make sure of it.

He must have made some sound, because the person turned to face him, a big grin on his face. "Hyung! I told him!"

Eyes brimming with happiness, the smile growing big on his face and his hand waving the phone in front of Yoongi's face, while the Beta stood his ground.

"You told who? What?"

"See?" Jungkook waved the phone before him again, and let out a frustrated sigh.

"C'mon hyung! Don't you see?"

The sight broke his heart all over again, the same way it had shattered when Yoongi found out about Jin's plan. This time though, it was more out of pity then grief.

"Jungkook what are you talking about?"

"I told Taehyung I'm going to pick him up on Saturday."

"Huh? What?" Yoongi racked his brain, trying to find the last conversation they had. Was it about Taehyung?

Ah...yes, Taehyung had already signed the papers, hadn't he? Jungkook was going to make him live the rest of his life, as a prisoner. And Yoongi could do nothing to stop him.

"Saturday? Isn't that too soon?"

"Of course not! This is the right time, hyung!" It was a shout filled with excitement, but to Yoongi's ears it sounded like a shout for help.

Jungkook needed someone to pull himself back, to make sense of the madness he had started, to stop the journey he was about to begin with Taehyung as his husband.

But was Yoongi the right person to pull the plug, or was someone else already chosen for this job? While Jungkook jumped around, squealing like a little girl, at his recent triumph on Taehyung, Yoongi wondered what it would take?

What would it take, for Jungkook to realize the mistakes he was making?

No amount of advice, lecturing or pleading from Yoongi, had changed his mind, when Jungkook set his plan into motion. Even now, Jungkook didn't wait for Yoongi's reaction nor asked for his opinions. The Beta was just a passerby, looking through the mirror to the other side, watching in silence, as Jungkook ruined the omega's life.

Could he do something about it? Maybe...or maybe not.

Stopping Jungkook, meant going against his pack leader, his Alpha. And if it were anybody else, Yoongi would have beaten some sense into them by now.

This was Jungkook though... the sniveling kid that he, Namjoon and Jin, had raised together. He might have been Namjoon's little brother, who worshipped the late pack leader, in his adorable heart. But Yoongi was the one, to take care of Jungkook.

He had fed the kid, while he remained starving. He had piggybacked Jungkook when he fractured his leg in high school. He even went on a double-date to help out the kid with his first ever crush. And secretly followed them throughout the day, to make sure that Jungkook was in safe hands.

He had done it all, been part of Jungkook's good and worst days, and they had come so far.

Yet, he couldn't bring himself to stop Jungkook from ruining more lives.

Because...Jungkook's mind and body had kept going on, feeding on the hatred he held for Taehyung.

If this one thing was taken away from him...if he wasn't able to get his hands on Taehyung, then...

Yoongi didn't want to deal with the feelings that came with almost losing a family member, again.

He couldn't go through with it all over again.

He just...couldn't...

'I'm so sorry Taehyung-ah...this battle you'll have to fight by yourself.'
