She and percy become best friends and they fall for each others, but they don't want to admit it. Then Percy admits his feelings... Here you go anon! I kept it 2nd person to make it more gender neutral and I tried to incorporate the two book series’ into it without really super interfering with the books too much[annabeth is only percy’s best friend in this tho]? Or trying not to. Also sorry about the “not wanting to admit it” not really being incorporated, this was just a short drabble and I wanted to focus more on the worldbuilding/meeting and confession ^^; Camp Half-Blood was in better condition now, even after the two wars. It had taken a lot out of all of the campers. Repairing the camp took a lot of work, there were even campers from Camp Jupiter that had helped which sped up the clean up immensely.There was even a steady inpour of new campers, to make up for those who they had lost in the two wars.
Y/N had stuck by the camp through thick and thin, being a year-rounder after joining the camp had induced a sort of loyalty to the demigod. It also helped that that was where Percy was nowadays….
After the first war and prophecy in regards to the children of the big three, Zeus had admitted to having more children. That of course, had made Hera send a few monsters after the children, which is how Percy had met Y/N.
Y/N could have held your own, sure. The child of Zeus had already taken out a few Leukrokottas on your own before Percy Jackson jumped in and helped save the younger demigod. Y/N was only about a year younger than Percy and it was a surprise you had survived so long on your own. After returning to camp you had spent a lot of time with Percy; comparing powers and sparring with him whenever you both had the chance.
Percy and Y/N got incredibly close, hanging out during camp and even outside of camp. You built a relationship on trust and understanding, being a child of the big three was hard and not a lot of campers could ever understand that. Except for Nico, who had avoided the “dynamic duo” as you were called.
Even after Percy had disappeared for months, Y/N stayed at the camp. You let everyone look for the son of Poseidon, while you tried to keep the camp in one piece. You had to, Percy would be back of course, Percy was always back.
Then during the war with the Romans and after Percy had been found, Y/N stuck with the camp since you were one of the strongest warriors camp had. Then there was the war with the giant’s.
Now, the two of you were together again. You were both considered heros and it was hard to get alone time with your best friend, everyone wanted to talk to you or one of the 7.
The time Percy had spent apart from you had only magnified your feelings for the other demigod. Every time you two were alone now, your heart would race and you would almost blurt out your feelings to him, but you didn’t. You were afraid if you did, he wouldn’t return your feelings and you would lose your best friend to Annabeth. Not that anything was wrong with Annabeth, you were a little jealous at how close they were but you never said anything. They were best friends too, but it was a bit obvious that Annabeth liked Percy a little more than that.
You could see the two of them talking and you hesitated a bit at the way Annabeth smiled at Percy, you frowned a bit to yourself and walked to a spot where you could be alone. It was actually a favorite spot of yours and Percy’s, where the two of you go to avoid the other campers. You were right near the lake and the calm, hypnotic sounds helped you avoid thinking about anything.
You didn’t notice when Percy sat next to you and you jumped slightly when he cleared his throat.
“Hey Y/N.” Percy sounded a bit awkward, and he wasn’t looking at you, just off into the lake.
“Hey Perce.” You replied, smiling at him as he looked away. Your heart skipped a beat when you noticed that no one else was around. You were alone with your best friend for the first time in a long time.
“I wanted to tell you something. Do you promise to sit here and wait while I talk?” The son of Poseidon seemed hesitant and a bit shy for some reason. That kickstarted your heart even more.
“Sure! I mean...what are best friends for?” You got a little more comfortable while biting your lower lip.
“Well... when I was kidnapped and had amnesia, I could only remember one name and one face for the longest time...yours.” Percy hesitated and bit his lower lip, “The reason why was because I had...well have... this major crush on you and it never seemed to be the time to tell you? I wanted to tell you before Hera kidnapped me but then I was kidnapped and you weren’t a part of the seven, you stayed at camp to help defend it, which was really cool by the way, but I just didn’t get the chance to tell you at all. And I wanted to tell you before who knows what happens and you die or I die or we just lose each other.” Percy finally took a break to breath.
You couldn’t help it, you giggled. Your giggles turned into full blown laughter at his word vomit and you hugged yourself. Percy’s face was pink and you grinned.
“I didn’t think you’d laugh at me...you could have just told me you didn’t feel that way….” He moved to get up and you grabbed his wrist.
“No! No… no. That’s not it, I promise! I… well I really like you too. I’ve had a major crush on you since we met Percy. I just never told you cuz I thought you and Annie were going to be a thing.” You grinned at the other hero, “I’m giggling because I’m so happy.”
“Oh.” Percy flushed and sat back down, you scooted a bit closer to him and smiled slightly.
“Yeah. Oh.” You slipped your arms around Percy and buried your face in his neck until you finally calmed down before you pulled back and looked into those sea green eyes.
“I’m going to kiss you now okay?” Percy grinned and you nodded, smiling and closing your eyes when your lips met.
You only opened them when you both felt a shock, Percy yelped and fell back.
“Woops...Sorry Perce.” You grinned, “Looks like we have to practice more!”
