If you're keen to take on a hybrid role that makes the most of spells and Mana but is also proficient in close combat, then a Paladin build is for you. In this section of our Enshrouded guide, we'll cover recommendations for skills, Armor Sets, Weapons, and consumables we'd suggest for this build.

Attribute Points: Strength, Constitution, and Intelligence
Creating a Paladin build is blending the best of both worlds for ranged magic attacks and close combat melee fighting. Focus on building your Strength and Constitution so you can deliver strong attacks while having an impressive health bar, but also spend points on Intelligence so you can use all the Staff Charges you'll find and craft to your advantage. The Paladin role aims to deliver maximum damage in a variety of ways and be able to absorb it just as easily.
Want to level up quickly? Check out our Enshrouded Leveling: How to Level Up Fast page. Don't forget to also see How to Get Staff Charges (Spell Ammo) for your Paladin.
Don't forget that increasing your Flame Passage Level by upgrading your Flame Altar, will also give you a boost to attribute points. When you get up to Flame Level 6, you'll have each Attribute boosted by 5 points.
Armor
Go to the Blacksmith for your chest piece, gloves, and boots. The chest pieces will provide you with health buffs even at a lower level, but as you progress, you can swap to those with added health and stamina, or physical armor points. Using gloves from the Blacksmith will increase your damage against enemies using melee weapons and your blocking power.
The boots can either regenerate health or stamina -- and sometimes even both! Then use the Alchemist for your headgear, to boost your Critical Strike and Critical Magic Strike, and pants for additional Mana and Mana regeneration.
If you manage to find the Spellbinder Armor Set when you get to the later areas, the hat and the gloves are particularly good as they'll boost your resistance against magic attacks but also increase your melee damage.
Another later-game set to focus on acquiring is, of course, the Radiant Paladin Set. It'll give you everything from increased stamina and health, to additional Melee Critical Strike Chance, and extra damage against melee foes. Your best bet for getting this armor is to explore the Kindlewastes and check out the golden chests -- the Sun Temples are a good place to start for farming Legendary loot!

Weapons
Apart from unique Legendary Weapons, it's a game of chance to find the best weapons in Enshrouded. You'll want to look out for chests during your exploration and find Gold ones for a higher chance of getting a Legendary. That being said, there are some weapons you will come across multiple times in various rarities, so these are the ones we'd recommend prioritizing those that have either cutting or piercing damage, but also have magic effects.
Wailing Blade
This one doesn't have magic effects, but it is a good early game Legendary weapon and can be upgraded to offer everything to ensure your cutting, blunt, and piercing attacks are doing the most damage.
- See our How to Get the Wailing Blade page for more details on how to find it.
Jezmina's Apotheosis
Jezmina's Apotheosis, for example, which you can earn from following the Southern Caravan Lore Pages has both cutting and fire damage. As you enhance your weapons, you'll be able to increase its special effects such as health leeching and brutal attacks.
Luminous Wand
We obtained this from defeating a Scavenger Matron at Fawnsong Frontier, so it's not necessarily only available in the later stages of the game. If you prefer a wand over a Staff, it's worth using a wand like this that also has Overcharge abilities and mana regeneration.

Shroud Weaver
This is one to set your sites on toward the later areas, when you reach the Kindlewastes and your Flame Level is at 6. It's good for your ranged attacks, so pop it into your Q slot and flick between this and melee attacks. It also has the chance to increase Critical Hits and do increased backstab damage.
It can be found in a chest in the southeast corner of the map, on a ledge.
Skills to Purchase for a Paladin Build
We'd recommend starting by unlocking the basic skills you can find in the center circle of the Skill Tree. All of these will be useful for your general close combat. You then want to start branching off into the
Skill | Cost |
---|---|
Merciless Attack | 2 Skill Points |
Power Parry | 2 Skill Points |
Sneak Attack | 3 Skill Points |
Backstab Damage | 2 Skill Points |
From here, you'll want to start branching off into the blue and red skills trees, so you can increase your physical damage resistance along with your melee attacks, but also start to take advantage of your Intelligence and mana.

Increasing your Intelligence will increase your magic damage each time, so you can do more with less mana.
The special skills you want to unlock along this way will be:
- Blink - Teleport out of danger by replacing your Dodge Roll with this
- Blink Attack - Blinking into an enemy can create an explosion that will cause fire damage
- Emergency Blink - Unlocking Blink and its additional benefits will help you stay mobile during combat. This will stop you
- Arcane Deflection - Parry and you'll gain 20 Mana back
- Counterstrike - Gives you the chance to reflect attacks back and create fire damage.
Red Skills to Unlock
Red Skills to Unlock Skills | Cost |
---|---|
Evasion Attack | 4 Skill Points |
Constitution | 1 Skill Point for Each Node |
Strength | 1 Skill Point for Each Node |

Sink points into Strength to make sure you're hitting heavy right from the start of the game. Then increase your Constitution for a bigger health bar and a better chance at survival.
The special skills you want to unlock along this way will be:
- Evasion Attack - If you're already using Blink and Blink Attack, you might as well make the most of dodging and get Evasion Attack, too. It will deal more weapon damage when you have a melee weapon equipped.
- Battle Heal - This allows you to heal as you perform melee attacks.
- Shiny Plates and Heavy Plates - You'll be able to increase your armor and mitigate more damage with these two.
- Feast - Meat will give you a 15% health increase when consumed.
- Heavy-Handed - When an enemy is blocking and you attack, their stun bar is increased by 20%.
- Breach - Break a block and deal 100% more melee damage for a short period.
- Shockwave - This creates a shockwave when an enemy is overpowered.
- Blood Warrior - Use Sneak or Merciless Attack and spawn a health orb when an enemy is defeated.
Consumables to Have as a Paladin

The consumables you take along for the journey can have a significant effect when you're playing as a Paladin. Once you have the Oven for the Farmer, you can start to cook meals. You'll need to use the crafting menu directly from her to make dishes, but there are a few that are worth stocking up on in this role.
- Open Sandwich - This open sandwich using Grilled Wolf Meat, Saffron, and Flat Bread will have your Strength and Constitution buffed. You'll gain +4 Strength and +2 Constitution for 45 minutes with this meal.
- Meat Wrap - If you've picked skills that have left your Constitution needing more attention, then go for the Meat Wrap. You'll need Raw Sand Digger Meat, Flour, Water, and Red Mushroom for this one, but it will boost your Constitution by +4 and has the added benefit of +1 Intelligence. This effect lasts for 45 minutes.
- Grilled Meat - The various raw meat you collect through the game can all provide a Constitution buff when it's cooked in the Fireplace.
